What Sze Zeng Missed On Sunday March 15

I invited Sze Zeng to visit Suntec City on Sunday Mar 15, the last day of the IT Show so that he could see for himself the practical and logisitical problems that NCC faces when major exhibitions are held there. However, Sze Zeng politely declined to do so, saying "I've been to NCC a few times and understand the limitation of space the church is facing. Yet this problem is not something new or unprecedented in Christians history." I think Sze Zeng may not have visited Suntec City during those times when major exhibitions are held, usually during the March, June, September and December school holidays.

The photo on the left was taken by STOMPer Aileen on Sunday, Mar 15 of the underpass Citylink Mall which connects City Hall MRT to Suntec City.

I walked through the underpass too that morning before the opening time of the IT show and it took me just 10 minutes since the crowds had not arrived yet. But look at the crush after the IT show opened!

Aileen was caught in the crush and
she estimated she took about 30-45 minutes to get from Suntec City to City Hall MRT. I think this picture is a powerful visual presentation of "practical and logistic reason" for NCC to move to One-North. Too bad Sze Zeng did not personally experience this but thankfully this report by Aileen should add to his "knowledge capital" ;-)

Hi Stanley, I was at City Hall on that day about 1pm - 3pm. Too crowded, I didn't see you :)

Lol. And if u were at suntec u would not even be able to see ur feet and if you have a 6 year old with you, you'd be too busy making sure he doesn't get swallowed up the crowd and run over by people's printer trolleys. Kae got hit in the face by a few people who rudely pushed through despite my trying to shield him as best as I could. Parts of the jam coomprised of a frustrating and agonizing 20 minutes that used to just take us less than a minute to breeze through. And despite being early to get to church, we were obviously not early enough and we missed so much of sermon. The cab driver refused to turn into Tower 4 and my friend's FIL could only drop her at beach road. So the walk from convention hall to tower 4 for hte last service was nothing short of long and painful. ^.^"

But really I feel bemused lah coz Singaporeans said in a recent poll that we are a gracious society- and i was like sure or not??? =)

You guys should have visited my church. Ps Reuben preached an awesome sermon based on Josh 10.

That said, I think what happened in Suntec is God's way of shutting critics of NewCre once and for all. That picture is worth a thousand words.
